Mission Objectives

The mission objectives of the American Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Panama are to:

  • Promote trade, commerce and investment between the United States of America and the Republic of Panama.
  • Promote and protect the free enterprise system.
  • Encourage its members to engage and actively participate in the development of the social and economic progress of Panama.
  • Cooperate with the Governments and with the citizens of both countries for the maintenance of friendly relations and for the solution of their common problems.
  • Maintain relations with organizations with similar objectives, with the Association of America Chambers of Commerce and similar organizations in and out of the United States of America and the Republic of Panama.
  • Protect the interests of its members whenever their lawful activities are threatened or interfered with, if such threats or interference affect the general interests of its membership.
  • Encourage the maintenance of high standards of ethics in business relations.
  • Advance the common purposes and protect the general interests of its members.
  • Serve as spokesperson for its members before the Governments of the Republic of Panama and the United States of America in matters of interest to its membership, without intervening or participating in the electoral processes or partisan politics of either the Republic of Panama or the United States of America.
  • Acquire and disseminate information regarding both countries through publications or other means.
