The American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (AMCHAM), in its role as catalyst and facilitator of commercial exchange and development between Panamanian and US companies, is organizing its fifth commercial mission to the United States, to New York City. The mission will be held from November 14th to the 17th of this year.

AMCHAM will integrate both the public and private sector into a single delegation with the firm objective of promoting Panama as a brand country and commercial destination. The government sector will be represented by the Ministers of the Presidency, of Commerce and Industries, of Economy and Finance, the Director of the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT), the Administrator of the Panama Pacifico Agency, the Director of Investment Promotion (PROINVEX), the Senior Commercial Officer of the United States Embassy in Panama, as well as the Executive President of the City of Knowledge Foundation and about 20 Panamanian entrepreneurs in the Logistics, Finance and Research and Development (R & D) industries.

"The mission to New York will allow for an exchange at the highest level between government leaders and businessmen from Panama and top corporate and state directors of New York. This initiative provides us with the opportunity to promote Panama as a brand country and commercial destination" explained Aristides Chiriatti, president of AMCHAM.

The mission will include visits to New York companies and institutions, organized in the following areas of interest: Financial Services and Insurance; Innovation, Research and Development; and Logistics, Transportation and Construction.

Foreign trade has become an increasingly important component of Panama's economic development and AMCHAM is committed to working with its regional partners to increase exports and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) between Panama and the United States.
